Enyeama joins Super Eagles camp in Belgium

The captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Vincent Enyeama, has
finally joined his national teammates in Belgium as they get set for
two friendly games against Congo and Cameroon respectively.
National team officials confirmed Enyeama’s arrival at the Hotel
Verviers, the camp site of the Eagles just before the team held its
second training session for the day.
Enyeama over the weekend was in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State to bury
his late mother and having missed the last set of games against
Tanzania and Niger, he has returned for the double header against
Congo and Cameroon.
Super Eagles’ Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, stated that with the
arrival of Enyeama in camp now, the only foreign based player
yet to hit camp is Rizespor of Turkey defender, Godfrey
Oboabona, who is said to be having visa issues in Turkey.
It is yet to be seen if Enyeama will remain the first choice for the
crunch duels with the Red Devils and Indomitable Lions.
Carl Ikeme, the other goal keeper in camp, had a very good debut
show in the colours of Nigeria and some think he deserves more
chance in the games ahead.
Meanwhile, there are still uncertainties around the home-based
players making the trip to Antwerp to due to visa hitches.
The players affected by the visa snag are goalkeepers Femi
Thomas and Ikechukwu Ezenwa, defenders Chima Akas and
Austin Oboroakpo, midfielder Paul Onobi and forward Prince
The Super Eagles take on the Leopards of Democratic Republic of
Congo in Vise, Liege on Thursday before playing the Indomitable
Lions of Cameroon in Dendermonde on Sunday.
